When it comes to keeping your home clean, you may find that you’re fighting a losing battle. There is often so much to do, and if you’re getting caught up on the larger tasks, you might be missing many vital parts that need to be kept clean. Today we’re going to walk you through five of the most overlooked areas in your home and how to clean them. To make sure your home is pristine, and to help ensure every last crack is cleaned, consider investing in a regular cleaning service like Ivete’s!  Cleaning is our lifeblood, and whether you need help once a week or once a month, we can help ensure that your home is thoroughly clean from top to bottom.

Tops of Spaces

How often do you remember to clean above your eye level? The tops of refrigerators, washers and dryers, ceiling fans and door frames can all hold significant amounts of dirt and dust. Along with being annoying, these areas can cause an increase in allergy issues, respiratory problems, and even eventually lead to problems with your air vents and electronics. Using a damp, absorbent material like a microfiber cloth ensures that none of the dust and dirt escape. For surfaces such as a ceiling fan, a creative way to clean without getting dust everywhere is to use an old pillowcase.

Under Appliances and Furniture

Do you know what’s under your fridge? Dropped food, cat toys, dust bunnies, and elastic hair bands always find their way under surfaces like the stove and refrigerator. Ensuring that these areas are kept clean can help prevent damage due to dust being sucked into fans or moving parts.

Cleaning Equipment and Supplies

If your mop and vacuum are dirty, are you really cleaning as well as you could be? Ensuring that your tools are clean is just as essential to ensuring that your home is clean as anything else. Brooms, mops, sponges, and cleaning cloths should be cleaned after use regularly. Additionally, vacuums should be emptied and cleaned out regularly as well. When cleaning a vacuum make sure to clear out the underside and interior tubes as well as the central holding unit. If you find that it is incredibly dusty, which it often will be, it may be beneficial to thoroughly wash the vacuum out taking care to avoid delicate and electronic sections.
